I saw this post among the slew of comments on this Planned Parenthood post regarding the decision on the after 20-week abortions ban in Arizona.
It was nice to see a conservative man standing up to the anti-choice bullies on the page.
This is what happens when a conservative meets this little thing I like to call “reality.”
Though I was skeptical from the first couple of sentences, it ends up pretty awesome and insightful.
Nah, fuck this guy.
It shouldn’t take someone he cares about going through something that awful to suddenly make him wake the fuck up and see women as people.
Same goes for the woman who was pro-life until SHE had to watch her baby die a terrible death. Cause up until that point, she was totally fucking for OTHER women going through it.
I hate this sort of republican logic, that something is only relevant until it directly affects them. Like all of these republicans who suddenly change their position on gay marriage because their kid comes out of the closet. Or John McCain being against torture because HE was tortured.
It should not take you personally experiencing something to have some goddamn empathy.
